When asked how he would like his family’s donation acknowledged, Dr. Steve Elias, director of the Center for Vein Disease, chose a seemingly humble marker, but one that will mean a lot to many individuals in the years to come. “I wanted to sponsor an outdoor bench at the front entrance to The Kaplen Pavilion where patients and families could rest, get some fresh air or wait for a ride. A bench in the sun is my utopia,” said Dr. Elias.
First to use the ClariVein in the Netherlands
We also trained Jean Paul deVries MD PhD, Chief of Vascular Surgery, Hospital St. Antonius, Utrecht, Netherlands the next day. These two physicians were the first to use the ClariVein in the Netherlands.
